5 Years of ChemProX, Recipe for Success Blog Series
As an Application Manager for ChemProX, I’m excited to share how our innovative features have been validated in real-world scenarios, delivering substantial benefits to our users.
ChemProX’s advanced detection technology, which combines aspiration Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) with additional sensors, has proven highly effective in detecting a broad spectrum of chemical threats. During Operation Dragon Spear, a U.S. military exercise, ChemProX was deployed to detect chemical plumes in a bunker saturated with a mint cleaning solution. The device performed as expected, with users praising its form factor and ease of use.

Handheld Chemical Detection Application Manager Teemu Partanen showcasing ChemProX during CBRNe Summit Europe that took place in Oslo, Norway, on March 2025. Regarding our solutions for chemical detection, Teemu remarked a major interest from NATO countries and on a EU level, with special focus from the nordics, specially Norway and Denmark given the situation in Europe.
As for a real-life scenario units in Ukraine are utilizing ChemProX’s detection capability and easy field operability to protect their troops against the OPCW confirmed chemical agents (OPCW, 2025) as well as confirming the use of these said illegal substances in the battlefield.
ChemProx’s Highlights
The device’s wireless connectivity and real-time data sharing capabilities have significantly enhanced situational awareness during field operations. In the same exercise, users appreciated that when one ChemProX unit detected a threat, all team members could immediately see who and where the alarm was coming from, facilitating prompt and coordinated responses.
ChemProX’s built-in training mode has also been a game-changer. Traditional training methods often rely on expensive simulators and simulant chemicals. With ChemProX, users can engage in realistic training scenarios without additional equipment, enhancing preparedness and reducing costs.
Furthermore, our commitment to customer feedback has led to continuous improvements. For instance, the implementation of the Setup Assistant has simplified the configuration of detection networks, making the device even more user-friendly.
Proven Value
In summary, ChemProX’s advanced detection capabilities, real-time data sharing, integrated training mode, and user-driven enhancements have proven valuable to our customers, reinforcing our dedication to providing cutting-edge solutions for chemical threat detection.
