A Handheld Chemical Detector Product Manager’s Insight

ChemProX, Recipe for Success

The last five years with ChemProX have been undeniably fruitful. From a personal perspective, it has been an interesting journey being able to grow together with ChemProX, since it was actually around the time when ChemProX was launched that I started in the product manager’s role.

It goes without saying the past five years have not been all smooth sailing: CBRN, and chemical detection specifically, require a constant learning process not only for the people involved, but also for the technology. In order to follow up these ever evolving threats, adaptation is paramount.

IMS a Solid Chemical Detection Technology

After five years, I am extremely happy and proud to see ChemProX has secured a solid position in the market. It is truly a testimony that IMS as a technology still holds its solid ground within the end-users and is considered a reliable and robust technology for detecting the unknown hazardous chemical threats. Bertin Environics’ modified aspiration type IMS technology is still on top of the line for early warning of chemical threats, but the new emerged requirements regarding logistics and global evolving treats have forced us to re-think the user scenarios and adapt our technology towards these new requirements.

Environics in-house patented modified aspiration type of IMS technology for detecting Chemical Threats.

Bertin Environics uses proven and tested multisensor technology for chemical detection on its solutions against chemical threats. This orthogonal method consists of: miniaturized IMS sensor and semiconductor/MOS sensors. Bertin Environics patented ion mobility cell is a modified aspiration type IMS.

Partner & End-User Feedback Matters

Another key ingredients to the success of ChemProX is undoubtedly our active partner network and interaction with the end-users. Bertin Environics takes a great pride in providing quality detection solutions and maintaining the customer satisfaction is a top priority. For that reason ChemProX early warning chemical detector has been selected by different types of organizations as their go-to tool for detecting CWA and TIC chemical hazards. For that reason, ChemProX‘s end-users are found among:

  • Military
  • Different police forces
  • Special units
  • Hazmat teams
  • First responders
  • Fire brigades
  • Border control
  • etc…

Personally, as a Product Manager one of my key tasks is to gather user feedback and data. This is essential in order to improve the capabilities of ChemProX and to ensure the product maintains its ability to respond to the ever-evolving threats. We truly believe that being able to adapt to changing situations and having the capability to optimize the technology based on the valuable user feedback is the key for success. The flexibility and ability to adapt and evolve are surely key ingredients in the recipe of success.
