Bertin Environics Involved on Defence Industry Discussions with the Finnish Government

On the 25th of June, Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo and key representatives of the defence industry in Finland gathered for a roundtable discussion addressing the opportunities and challenges this industry sector is facing in the new security and geo political environment.

Kirsi Hedman — Bertin Environics CEO and Bertin Technologies CBRN Business Unit Director — was one of the guests and participants exploring ways to improve the capacity and operating conditions of the Finnish defence industry and exchanging views on defence industry financing in Finland and Europe.

This discussion focused on topics such as:

• The increasing industrial capacity for responding to increased international demand.
• Promotion of exportation  in a changed operating environment, including the opportunities offered by new EU initiatives and NATO membership.
• Research and development projects to ensure Finland stays at the top of technological development also in the defense industry.
• Improvement of the operating conditions and financing of the defense industry.
