Advancing CBRN Defense Capabilities

ChemProX was once again showcased and utilized during the RDAX (CBRN Defense R&D Acquisition Experiment) — Dragon Spear 2024 — which aims at advancing CBRN defense capabilities. This premier event that counted with more than 800 participants from industry, academia, military, and government laboratories and over 150 registered technology partners took place in Perry, Georgia, from November 17th to 21st, 2024.

RDAX provides an opportunity for special operations forces CBRN enablers to assess innovative technologies in operational countering weapons of mass destruction scenarios.

Unmanned Chemical Detection with ChemProX Early Warning Chemical Detector

Bertin Environcics Team represented by Bertin Environics US President Michael Phillips, Business Development Manager Jason Algarin, and Service Manager Kevin Santos was present to showcase ChemProX’s versatility and ease of use in unmanned applications. ChemProX mounted onto UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicle) and UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) was used in different operational scenarios, such as clan lab or a simulation of a train car derailment in the Washington, DC area, in which we worked with two teams from the Department of Homeland Security (US Coast Guard) consisting of the Maritime Security Response Team (MSRT East & West). In addition, ChemProX CWA and TIC early warning detector was also showcased as a handheld device, emphasizing its versatility.

The RDAX Dragon Spear experiment offered a unique environment for JPEO-CBRND developers to work directly with and get feedback from the joint force—the men and women who will one day rely on these technologies to protect them and their battle buddies from some of the scariest threats imaginable. As for ChemProX, our specialists from Bertin Environics US heard that “it is not only equipment they liked, but also a device they want to have right now for their operations”.
