Training Manager and CBRN Specialist, Toni Leikas, and Project Engineer Juha Väisänen, together with Millog, conducted an onsite training for the Pori Brigade (Finnish: Porin Prikaati) a Finnish Army unit, directly under the Army headquarters, on 7th – 8th of December 2020.
This training takes place after a mid-life upgrade on Environics Armoured CBRN Reconnaissance solution, consisting of devices for CWA and TIC detection (ChemProDM), gamma and X-ray radiation detection, meteorological and temperature measurement and global positioning, integrated through the Rugged Master Module, and CBRN dedicated system software EnviScreen Operix, for measurement data display.
Therefore, the practical training focused on the vehicle’s chemical and radiation detection capabilities usage, sensors data management during action, and operator’s level maintenance tasks. Software-wise the latest EnviScreen Operix 2020 training features were emphasized and seen as an excellence tool to train and practice the vehicle operators, both in classroom and in a practical field exercise environment.
Environics has installed over 100 systems in different types of vehicles, ranging from first response and civil protection CBRN monitoring vehicles, to basic CR monitoring in infantry fighting vehicles or full CBRN capabilities for armoured reconnaissance vehicles.
