During the last 3 years Bertin Environics has received orders for 45 CBRN Monitoring Systems for naval vessel application, raising the total amount of systems ever ordered to 130, keeping up with the positive indicators recorded already in 2021.
Embracing New Horizons: The Journey into Latin America
In 2023, new geographical areas and countries were opened for this business line, mostly due to the remarkable milestone contract with Águas Azuis, which is supplying the new X-System Solution to four Tamandaré Class frigates of the Brazilian Navy. This deal not only opened a new market area in Latin America but also strengthened Bertin Environics position as a global leader for Naval & Maritime CBRN protection.
We started an exhilarating journey into the heart of Latin America. Our recent participation in CABSEC 2023 in Cartagena and Expodefensa 2023 in Bogota not only marked significant milestones for us but also opened doors to innumerable opportunities in this vibrant region.
On the lead of this quest we have our newly acquired talent based in the US, Business Development Manager Naval Systems & South America Jason Algarin, who is teaming up with our seasoned Naval Systems’ expert and Application Manager Arto Penttinen.

The X-System has been extremely well received among the navies and shipyards who have ordered systems this year. Being a novel and state-of-the-art solution, the X-System ensures long life cycle for the CBRN protection in the vessels it is used in.
The expectations for 2024 are high as well. We are working hard to finalize contracts with several major shipbuilders in different parts of the world and at the same time Bertin Environics continues to raise awareness of CBRN threats in naval environment and X-System’s capability to provide safety on-board. We will keep up our activities in the main market areas Europe and Asia, but Bertin Environics is keen to expand operations especially in North and Latin Americas.
