New Product Manager, Project Engineer, and Business Development Manager for Armored Vehicles join us on August 2024
We are glad to announce that we are adding 3 new key players to our already strong team of CBRN specialists, in order to better support and develope our business activities, both in our Finland and US based teams. As new additions to Bertin Environics Team in the second half of 2024 we have: Aki Ahola and Janne Kinnunen who will be joining our Mikkeli based team, as Product Manager for CBRN Systems and Project Engineer respectively. For the US team, our most recent hire is Eric Navarro as Business Development Manager for Armored Vehicles, who will trigger the military vehicle business activities in North America.
Due to their functions they will be part of the front line of communication with our network of customers, partners and dealers, therefore we share a brief introduction and insight to their backgrounds and previous experience.
Product Manager for CBRN Systems, Aki Ahola
Aki’s background is mostly from IT financial services area where he has worked as a System Specialist and Application Owner. Earlier in his career he has done SW testing for embedded devices and worked as a quality consultant in SW development projects.
Aki will join Bertin Environics as a Product Manager for CBRN Systems area.
Project Engineer, Janne Kinnunen
Janne worked over 20 years with FRP composites (fibre reinforced plastics) production in various positions as a R&D Engineer, Production Engineer and Production Supervisor. He has also acted as a Project Manager in composite equipment deliveries for railroads.
Before joining Bertin Environics, Janne was on a customer’s site in Egypt doing quality control and quality assurance for FRP solvent extraction equipment as a Site Manager FRP Equipments. Janne is now part of Project and Commission team for CBRN system deliveries and will give technical support for COTS deliveries.
Business Development Manager for Armored Vehicles, Eric Navarro
An accomplished executive, Eric Navarro has led teams of up to 1,000 in various sectors including military operations and strategy, financial services, and technology deployment. As a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps, he served two combat tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom and led missions globally, including in the Caribbean, Latin America, and the Pacific. He notably spearheaded the Marine Corps’ fastest and largest IT rollout, earning accolades from the Assistant Commandant.
In his civilian career, Mr. Navarro has held prominent roles at JP Morgan Chase, Credit Suisse, and CB Richard Ellis. He has also been a senior advisor to tech firms on advanced broadband, AI/ML technologies, and renewable energy projects. His academic credentials include a BA in Writing & Film from New School University, an MBA from NYU Stern in Management & Finance, and an MS in National Security Strategy from the National War College. He also holds certifications in Program Management from the Defense Acquisition University and as a SAFe Agilist.
A published author, Mr. Navarro’s book “God Willing” chronicles his Iraq experiences. His insights have been featured in the Washington Post among other leading publications. An esteemed public speaker, he has presented at the Library of Congress and appeared on Book TV.
